Disastrous Salvation Ink
This Hebrew Tattoo is pretty fresh, just came across it last week. The victim was going for a biblical reference "God of my Salvation", straight from Isaiah 12:2.
"God of my Salvation" - El Yshuati in Hebrew, are two words. Do you see two words in this tattoo? Right.
This is not the end of it, though. The letter Tav in Yshuati was somehow switched for a He. The letter Vav (the U sound) looks almost like a Resh. It's all a big mess.
Now why this Hebrew tattoo went wrong, I have no idea. It's a biblical verse, for god's sake! You can find correct references very easily.
This is how "God of my Salvation" is originally written in Isaiah 12:2:
If you can't tell the difference between this and the victim's rendition, you should think twice before inking it on. I mean it!

subject: A promise to my Mom
Hi,
I got this tattoo to honor my Mom after she died from early onset Alzheimer's. At the time, I went back to school while I took care of her and got a degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine. The location has a special meaning to me and the characters were written for me by one of my teachers.
The two characters are supposed to read "Ma Carol" and the squired symbol then makes it Ma Ma and Carol Carol (my Mom's name and my middle name). Also, I believe the characters can be read as "path" and "promise" as in I promised to help care for others on my new path as a healer.
However, I'm embarrassed to say I've forgotten which character is which and also want to find about about other possible interpretations.

Top character 媽 is correct for "mother".
However tattooed character is not 路, which means "road / path".

Two Letters Short of a Sentence
Today's victim went for a famous quote by Friedrich Nietzsche, for his Hebrew tattoo: "What doesn't kill you, makes you stronger". He miscalculated just a little bit:
I don't know what happened here, maybe this victim didn't have enough money, or couldn't tolerate the pain; perhaps it's the result of a bad copy/paste job. Whatever the reason, this Hebrew tattoo is two letters too short, hilariously turning "What doesn't kill you, makes you stronger" into "What doesn't kill brain".
The word transformation happened by shortening Mechashel (makes stronger) into Moach (brain). Since in Hebrew you don't have to write vowels, this kind of thing will happen with many words when you omit a letter or two.
It's easy enough to fix, just add the two letters to the end of the sentence!
Now, this is how "What doesn't kill you, makes you stronger" is supposed to be written in Hebrew (I've also added a dash for clearer sentence structure):

Brabeck makes the astonishing claim that water is not a human right, but should be managed by business people and governing bodies. All of this means that Brabeck’s future plans include monitoring and controlling the amount of water people use. In the interview, Brabeck touts that his company is the largest foodstuff corporation in the world with over $65 billion in profit each year. He proudly claims that millions of people are dependent on him and his company. Does this guy think he is a god?
He calls water a “foodstuff” that needs an assigned value. Who controls the price of water? Brabeck bases his sustainability projects on the fact that a third of the world’s population may face water shortages within 15-20 years. By price controlling water, Brabeck believes he may save the planet from food and water shortages in the coming years.
With the threat of future water shortages, is it necessary to strip all humans of their natural liberty to water, as Brabeck suggests?
What might happen if international controls are placed on water sources as a select few corporate dictators rule over the water supply?
Can a free and thriving people find better ways to conserve and respect water with their own liberty, rather than allow global corporations to control it?
Nestle CEO applauds GMO farming and criticizes organic practices
Putting a person like Brabeck in control of water would create a tyrannical monopoly on something that was meant to be free. If influential corporations put a lock on the water tap, then they could dictate which farms received water. Nestle could protect GMO farming. In fact, in the interview, Brabeck said organic food is “not the best” and he went on to say that genetically modified food is perfectly safe and causes no disease. With this philosophy, a Brabeck economy would cut off organic farming from the water supply and allow genetically modified food to reign over the people.
Working together to preserve our right to water
Free people everywhere must work together to preserve their natural right to water. If one wants to dig their own well and tap the ground water, so be it. They are responsible for their keep. If one wants to collect their own rain water to sustain their own garden, then so be it. If one wants to purify their own water trough charcoal gravity fed filters and ditch bottled water companies altogether, then they will be better off for doing so. Is it time to reject a bottled water industry that is brainwashing people to submit to price controlled water? Humans can self sustain and work together,managing their own water. Greedy corporate CEOs are not the answer. No one is dependent on them. Water should remain unadulterated, free and available as a right to all.

Octopus see with their skin no eyes or brain needed
Seeing without eyes might seem impossible, but for some cephalopods like octopuses, it's entirely normal.
They may not be able to see details, but it turns out that some cephalopods' skin contains proteins called opsins that are sensitive to light. A new study in the Journal of Evolutionary Biology found that the skin of the California two-spot octopus changed color in response to light--even when it wasn't connected to the rest of the octopus. The researchers took a tissue sample from the octopus and exposed it to different lights, watching as the chromatophores, or color spots that allow the octopus to change color, expanded and contracted when exposed to light.
“Octopus skin doesn’t sense light in the same amount of detail as the animal does when it uses its eyes and brain,” lead author Desmond Ramirez said in a press release “But it can sense an increase or change in light. Its skin is not detecting contrast and edge but rather brightness.”
The research shows that octopuses' amazing ability to camouflage might be less cerebral than originally thought. Instead of needing to send a signal to the brain, octopus skin cuts out the middleman, and changes on its own.
Cephalopods also change their spots in response to other stimuli, including electricity. Watch a close up version of chromatophores dancing to electrical impulses in the video below.
