Welcome To T U
This was just a blog I started for myself, but I'm not so much into that, so I'll just start over if it's all the same to you.
Welcome to the Tattoo Union blog.
Tattoo Union is located in the Lee Building, at the corner of Main and Broadway, in the Uptown/ Mt.Pleasant area of East Vancouver. We opened in April 2008, and have had an amazing time building it to where it is now. Thank you to everyone, who has come by.
We are open 6 days a week, and take care of customers as efficiently as possible in the most researched of ways. We spend hours on drawings at no charge.
As I am not too good with technology, and I am trying to get better, will probably just focus on what I need to, which is tattooing, drawing, painting, and being an awesome dad and good friend. I'll let the others at the shop post, and we’ll all try to keep you posted on the daily life in the shop. It’s fun here, in this growing mini-metropolis of Vancouver, and we have a nice little corner of the city.
We happen to be home to the nicest customers in the city. Our customers bring very great ideas to the table, and mixed with our blend of creativity makes for a pretty crazy combination.
We happen to be home to the nicest customers in the city.
Feel free to come by the shop if you have any ideas for tattoos, from the smallest letters to complete coverage, we do it all. You can also send e-mails to the artists if you have any questions regarding hours, or directions.
Thanks for reading to here.

Google Maps Has Been Tracking Your Every Move And There’s A Website To Prove It

Remember that scene in Minority Report, where Tom Cruise is on the run from the law, but is unable to avoid detection because everywhere he goes there are constant retina scans feeding his location back to a central database? That’s tomorrow. Today, Google is tracking wherever your smartphone goes, and putting a neat red dot on a map to mark the occasion.
You can find that map here. All you need to do is log in with the same account you use on your phone, and the record of everywhere you’ve been for the last day to month will erupt across your screen like chicken pox.
We all know that no matter what ‘privacy’ settings you may try and implement, our information is all being collected and stored somewhere. That knowledge sits in the back of our minds, and is easy to drown out by shoving in some headphones and watching Adventure Time on repeat until everything stops being 1984. But it’s a sharp jolt back to reality when you see a two dimensional image marking your daily commute with occasional detours to the cinema or a friend’s house.
Looking at mine, I realised that a) I live my life in a very small radius, and b) there are places on my map that I don’t remember going. One of them I’ve apparently visited three times on different days. Once whilst “Biking” and twice while “Stationary”. All at times I wouldn’t usually be awake. I’m not sure what’s happening on Wood Street in North Melbourne, or why my phone apparently travels there without me, but I’m not going to rule out secret alien conspiracies.

You can also toggle between a traditional map and satellite view Apparently this record only happens if you have ‘location services’ switched on in your phone; if you do and you’re finding you have no data, then it means that either you don’t exist or you’ve beaten the system. If it’s the latter, please teach me your ways; I know for a fact that I switched my phone’s location detection off, but apparently it somehow got switched back on. Oh well. Perhaps this month I’ll take some inspiration from the runner who used Nike+ draw dicks — except this time when the dots are joined, they’ll just form a huge, unblinking eye. With occasional side trips to Wood Street. Get creeped out by logging in here.If you want to turn off location reporting and location history from your Google account and apps, you can follow the official instructions over here. Source:

Scientists Have Figured Out How To Delete And Edit Memories But Are We Ready

Memory is the most important part of a person’s identity, so it’s baffling that today there is still so little we understand about how human memory works. In PBS’ “Memory Hackers,” scientists from around the world let us in on their research into how to manipulate our memories in order to forget or even create new ones. The hour-long documentary interviews cognitive scientists and neurobiologists as well as their subjects to gain more insight into how these fascinating processes work and what the amazing results are.
The documentary’s producers explain the premise and motivation behind making this film by saying that,
“For much of human history, memory has been seen as a tape recorder that faithfully registers information and replays it intact, but now, researchers are discovering that memory is far more malleable, always being written and rewritten, not just by us but by others. We are discovering the precise mechanisms that can explain and even control our memories.”
If you’re thinking about how these studies might relate to the movie Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, you’re not far off. Among the subjects the film studies, the research of Karim Nader is explored. Nader discovered that the human memory may not be permanent but may, instead, be vulnerable to alteration each time a memory is recalled. This discovery led to hundreds of other studies around the world that were rooted in this theory, and is rumored to be an inspiration for the well-known independent movie.
One of the patients in the film is Jake Hausler, a 12-year-old boy with a fascinating and rare ability to remember everything he has ever experienced since he was 8. Jake is the youngest person to ever be diagnosed with Highly Superior Autobiographical Memory, a mental ability that allows him to recall everything he’s ever done but makes it difficult to distinguish between important and trivial memories and events. Researchers from the Washington University School of Medicine are mapping Jake’s brain to understand what makes his memory so strong and to see if this leads to new insights about how memory works.
Professor Julia Shaw, who is a researcher that the film follows as well, is an expert on false memory and the implantation of memories. Her research, which has a 70% success rate for convincing people that they committed a crime that they actually were not involved in, reveals the flaws in the criminal justice system and prisoners who were convicted purely based on eyewitness testimony that was likely faulty. While Shaw is researching the implantation of memories, another scientist, André Fenton, is studying the science of forgetting memories. He believes that, “Forgetting is probably one of the most important things that brains will do,” and that it’s possible that an injection could erase a painful memory. His hopes are that his research will one day help those suffering with dementia and Alzheimers by having a better understanding of how our brain works to remove memories.
Merel Kindt has also discovered that medication can help to remove negative associations of some memories. In her research, she was able to cure patients that suffered from severe cases of arachnophobia, which is the fear of spiders. This could lead to breakthroughs in reducing anxieties and fears in those who find daily functions intimidating, as well as help with a range of other anxiety-related issues like eating disorders.
Though this research may be fascinating and innovative, it raises the question of whether or not humans are ready for these kinds of breakthroughs. Just as the abuse of implanting memories can be dangerous for important aspects of society like being an eyewitness to a crime, forgetting memories could be hazardous for people’s personal lives and individual development. When the research turns into concrete medication or treatments available to the public, we will have to ask ourselves if we are prepared for such unknown consequences.

Body Of Doctor Who Linked Vaccines To Autism Found Floating In River

An avid autism researcher and vaccine opponent, Dr. Jeff Bradstreet was found dead floating in a North Carolina river with a gunshot wound to the chest that has been described as ‘suspicious circumstances’.
Dr. James Jeffery Bradstreet's body was discovered by a fisherman in the Rocky Broad River in Chimney Rock on Friday June 19th.
In spite of objections from those who knew him best, police investigators claim the death was a suicide, but family members and friends are not convinced.
Dr Bradstreet was a parent of a child who developed autism just after receiving a vaccination. This inspired him to research the harmful side effects of vaccines which then turned him into an outspoken activist.
His personal account of his son’s vaccine injury is still posted on his online blog.
Infowars report:
“Bradstreet had a gunshot wound to the chest, which appeared to be self inflicted, according to deputies,” reported WHNS.
In a press release, the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office announced, “Divers from the Henderson County Rescue Squad responded to the scene and recovered a handgun from the river.”
An investigation into the death is ongoing, and the results of an autopsy are also reportedly forthcoming.
Dr. Bradstreet ran a private practice in Buford, Georgia, which focused on “treating children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, PPD, and related neurological and developmental disorders.”
Among various remedies, Dr. Bradstreet’s Wellness Center reportedly carried out “mercury toxicity” treatments, believing the heavy metal to be a leading factor in the development of childhood autism.
Dr. Bradstreet undertook the effort to pinpoint the cause of the disease after his own child developed the ailment following routine vaccination.
“Autism taught me more about medicine than medical school did,” the doctor once stated at a conference, according to the Epoch Times’ Jake Crosby.
In addition to treating patients, Bradstreet has also offered expert testimony in federal court on behalf of vaccine-injured families and was founder and president of the International Child Development Resource Center, which at one time employed the much-scorned autism expert Dr. Andrew Wakefield as “research director.”
The circumstances surrounding Bradstreet’s death are made all the more curious by a recent multi-agency raid led by the FDA on his offices.
“The FDA has yet to reveal why agents searched the office of the doctor, reportedly a former pastor who has been controversial for well over a decade,” reported the Gwinnett Daily Post.
Social media pages dedicated to Bradstreet’s memory are filled with comments from families who say the deceased doctor impacted their lives for the better.
“Dr. Bradstreet was my son’s doctor after my son was diagnosed with autism. He worked miracles,” one Facebook user states. “At 16, my son is now looking at a normal life thanks to him. I thank him every day.”
“I will forever be grateful and thankful for Dr. Bradstreet recovering my son… from autism,” another person writes. “Treatments have changed my son’s life so that he can grow up and live a normal healthy life. Dr. Bradstreet will be missed greatly!”
A GoFundMe page has also been set up by one of Bradstreet’s family members seeking “To find the answers to the many questions leading up to the death of Dr Bradstreet, including an exhaustive investigation into the possibility of foul play.”
Despite his family requesting the public refrain from speculation, many are nevertheless concluding the doctor’s death to be part of a conspiracy.
“Self-inflicted? In the chest? I’m not buying this,” one person in the WHNS comments thread states. “This was a doctor who had access to pharmaceuticals of all kinds. This was a religious man with a thriving medical practice. Sorry, but this stinks of murder and cover-up.”
Another commentor had a more definitive conjecture:
“He did NOT kill himself! He was murdered for who he was speaking against, what he knew, and what he was doing about it. He was brilliant kind compassionate doctor with amazing abilities to heal. He was taken. Stopped. Silenced. Why would a doctor who had access to pharmaceuticals and could die peacefully shoot himself in the chest???? And throw himself in a river?? THIS IS OBVIOUS! MURDER!!”
The motive for killing Dr. Bradstreet was obvious, due to his credentials he poses a threat to the information control surrounding vaccines. After all, vaccines are big business.
UPDATE:
Forensic evidence has since emerged proving Doctor Bradstreet never committed suicide. You can learn more in the video below;

Cant Spell To Save Her Skin
You have just finished your first month of Hebrew studies, congratulations! It's time to celebrate with a self designed Hebrew tattoo:

Today's victim went for the same message as previously featured British model Danielle Lloyd. Her back is supposed to read "Only God is my Judge". By some miracle, she got the sentence structure right. No such luck with the spelling, though.
There are four words in this girl's tattoo, three of them are misspelled. Who's up for a game of "find the difference"?

Seriously now, if Hebrew is not your native tongue and you're set on designing your own Hebrew tattoo, at least verify its correctness. Upload your design to Flickr or ask at Yahoo! Answers. This kind of disaster doesn't have to happen!

Everyday She Said Hello To A Homeless Man Then One Day He Handed Her A Note

This homeless man is Ramundo Arruda Sobrinho and he is 77 years old. For the last 35 years he spent his days doing what he knew best, and that is writing poetry and short stories.
The video underneath is a widely praised and it is called “The Conditioned” and it recounts the story of Ramundo’s life and how it changed in the wake of giving Shalla a note with some poetry. Shalla read it and was amazed by Ramundo’s poetry and she began a Facebook page to spread his work. People started visiting him on his so called “The Island” and talked with him and shared thoughts. What happened next is truly a miracle.

Maybe Its Time To Swap Burgers For Bugs

Edible insects are great alternatives to conventional sources of meat as they’re cheap, plentiful and excellent sources of protein and fat, as well as vitamins and minerals.
Why eat insects?
Food demand is accelerating, and agricultural productivity cannot keep up. By 2050 global demand is set to double to 40 giga-calories per day, and much of this increase will be due to demand for meat.
The livestock industry is notoriously resource-hungry, consuming a third of all crops and requiring 70% of agricultural land. It also accounts for 20% of greenhouse gas emissions, through production, transport and animal digestive gas.

It is against this backdrop that edible insects offer an exciting alternative. They are extremely efficient at turning feed into meat and can be farmed at a very high density. This means that their embodied energy is low—a tenth of that of beef cattle—and that at high volumes they are very cost efficient. Taking their nutritional benefits into consideration as well, it is easy to understand why the UN, the EU, and the Dutch government are some of the major players investigating the potential of edible insects.
Top Edible Insects
Top insects protein providers are the grasshoppers known as chapulines in Mexico that have a protein content of up to 77.13%. Grasshoppers are a common snack in Mexico. grasshoppers are usually eaten with guacamole and tortillas.
We can also list the Mopane worms have 31 to 77 mg of iron per 100 grams. Black soldier flies maggots contain 42% protein.
In many countries, eating insects doesn’t raise eyebrows. Insects are a major source of food in many countries including Japan, China, Thailand, Cambodia, Australia, Uganda, Botswana, Peru, Venezuela and Mexico.
